There is something special about a late spring wedding at The Ryland Inn. With its beautiful grounds, historic architecture, and elegant reception spaces, it continues to be one of our favorite New Jersey wedding venues to film. At the end of May, we had the opportunity to return to the Ryland Inn for another incredible wedding day, with every part of the celebration taking place right on the property.

As a Ryland Inn wedding videographer, having the entire wedding day at one location gives us the opportunity to spend more time capturing the people, details, and moments that make each wedding unique. From getting ready through the final moments on the dance floor, the Ryland Inn provided a beautiful backdrop throughout the entire day.

A Late Spring Wedding at The Ryland Inn

Located in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, The Ryland Inn combines the character of a historic property with the polished look of a modern luxury wedding venue. By late May, the property is filled with greenery, making it an especially beautiful time of year for an outdoor portrait session and establishing footage of the venue.

Because everything took place on-site, the day flowed seamlessly from one part of the celebration to the next. Keeping preparations, portraits, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the same venue also allowed us to capture more candid moments without losing time traveling between locations.

For wedding videography, those moments in between the major events are often just as important as the events themselves. The reactions from family members, conversations between friends, quiet moments between the couple, and excitement building before the ceremony all help us tell the complete story of a wedding day.

Wedding Videography at The Ryland Inn

One of our favorite things about filming a Ryland Inn wedding is the variety the property offers visually. The architecture and surrounding grounds give us plenty of opportunities to create a wedding film that feels cinematic while still remaining natural and true to the day.

Our approach at AB Wedding Studio is centered around documenting the wedding as it actually happens. While we are always looking for beautiful compositions and great light, we also want our couples to be able to watch their wedding film years from now and remember how the day genuinely felt.

A venue like the Ryland Inn is perfect for that approach. There are beautiful locations for portraits and cinematic footage throughout the property, while everything remains close enough that we can stay focused on the couple and their guests throughout the day.

A Grand Ballroom Reception

Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, the celebration moved into the Grand Ballroom at The Ryland Inn for the reception.

The Grand Ballroom creates an elegant setting for everything from the couple's entrance and first dance to parent dances, speeches, dinner, and a packed dance floor later in the evening. From a videography perspective, the size and layout of the ballroom also give us plenty of opportunities to capture both the major reception events and the reactions happening around the room.

Those reactions are an important part of every wedding film we create. A great wedding video isn't only about documenting what the couple is doing. It's about preserving the way their parents react during a toast, friends celebrating during the reception, and all of the smaller interactions that can be easy to miss while the wedding day is happening.

By the time the dance floor opened, the Grand Ballroom was the perfect setting to finish out an incredible late May wedding at the Ryland Inn.
