A Beautiful June Wedding at Bonnet Island Estate | NJ Wedding Videographer
A summer wedding at Bonnet Island Estate already has an unmistakable sense of place. The waterfront views, coastal architecture and elegant ballroom make the venue feel connected to Long Beach Island while still offering the atmosphere of a private estate.
This June wedding allowed us to tell a story that extended beyond the venue itself. The couple began their morning at separate Airbnbs, exchanged their vows during a traditional church ceremony and then brought everyone together for an unforgettable reception at Bonnet Island Estate.
As an experienced Bonnet Island Estate wedding videographer, we love when a wedding day moves through several meaningful locations. Each setting adds something different to the finished film and helps us preserve the complete experience rather than only the reception.
Getting Ready at Airbnbs Near Long Beach Island
The day began with the couple getting ready at separate Airbnbs before traveling to the church. Using nearby rental homes can be a great option for couples planning a Bonnet Island Estate wedding, especially when members of the wedding party want to spend the morning together. The more residential setting also gives the beginning of the film a personal and relaxed feeling.
From a videography perspective, these quieter preparations are about more than capturing dresses, invitations and other details. They allow us to document the anticipation building throughout the morning, the conversations between family members and the reactions that happen before the formal events begin.
Because the couple was preparing in separate locations, careful timeline planning was especially important. Coordinating the Airbnb preparations, travel to the church and arrival at Bonnet Island Estate gave us the opportunity to create a film that flows naturally through every part of the day.
A Traditional Church Wedding Ceremony
Instead of holding their ceremony at the estate, the couple chose to exchange their vows in a church. A traditional church ceremony creates a beautiful contrast with a coastal reception. The architecture, processional and formality of the ceremony give this portion of the wedding film a timeless quality. After the ceremony, the celebration transitions toward the water and takes on the relaxed elegance associated with a summer wedding on Long Beach Island.
Church ceremonies also contain many meaningful moments that unfold quickly. The arrival of the wedding party, the walk down the aisle, the exchange of vows and the couple’s first moments as newlyweds all become essential parts of the finished wedding film. Once the ceremony concluded, the newlyweds and their guests traveled to Bonnet Island Estate to continue the celebration.
Summer Portraits at Bonnet Island Estate
We worked alongside Susan Elizabeth Photography throughout the day.
Susan Elizabeth’s combination of editorial portraiture and candid storytelling was a natural fit for this wedding. While portraits received thoughtful direction, there was still room for the couple to remain present and enjoy the experience. That balance also allows photography and videography to complement each other without making the day feel like one long production.
Bonnet Island Estate provides an incredible variety of portrait locations within a relatively compact setting. Its waterfront views, manicured grounds and coastal architecture give couples several distinct visual environments without requiring additional travel.
The June setting made those outdoor spaces an especially important part of the story. The light, movement near the water and classic summer scenery helped connect the elegance of the celebration with the atmosphere of the Jersey Shore.
A Bonnet Island Estate Wedding Reception
Bonnet Island Estate feels grand without losing the warmth and intimacy that make a reception personal. Its majestic ballroom, waterfront location and refined coastal design create an environment that works beautifully on film.
The reception brought together all the emotions and energy that had been building since the morning. After preparing at separate Airbnbs, traveling to the church and taking portraits around the estate, the couple could finally settle into the celebration with their family and friends.
One of our main goals during a reception is to preserve more than the scheduled events. Introductions, first dances, speeches and parent dances are essential, but some of the most meaningful footage comes from reactions happening elsewhere in the room. A parent watching the couple dance, friends laughing during a speech or guests singing together can communicate as much about the day as any formal moment.
Live Music From Picture Perfect Band
The reception entertainment was provided by Picture Perfect Band, a dynamic 11-piece group known for performing music across several styles and generations.
A full live band changes the atmosphere of a wedding reception. The interaction between the musicians and the guests brings an energy that can be both seen and heard throughout the wedding film.
Picture Perfect Band’s varied repertoire includes current music alongside funk, disco, R&B, Latin, rock, Motown and classic big-band arrangements. That range helped create a reception that guests of every generation could enjoy.
For us, filming a live band is about capturing the performance and the response it creates. Wide shots establish the scale of the celebration, while close reactions and movement on the dance floor preserve what it actually felt like to be in the room.
Why We Love Filming Weddings at Bonnet Island Estate
Bonnet Island Estate offers something few New Jersey wedding venues can match. It combines the character of a private coastal retreat with the amenities of an elegant estate and ballroom.
The venue is especially beautiful during the summer, when the waterfront surroundings become a defining part of the wedding experience. At the same time, couples are not limited to one type of celebration. This wedding demonstrated how naturally Bonnet Island Estate can follow a traditional church ceremony and preparations at nearby rental homes.
Every part of the day had its own identity. The Airbnbs provided a relaxed and personal beginning. The church added tradition and significance. Bonnet Island Estate brought everyone together for portraits, dinner, live music and a celebration by the water.
That progression gave us the opportunity to create a wedding film with genuine variety, emotion and a strong sense of place.
